A mélange of playful futurism and colonial hauntings; at times exploding in ecstatic hip-hop psychedelia, or vaporizing into clouds of atmospheric grit, Cathedral Bloom’s music is a consciousness-bending hybrid of the human/mythic journey. What began in 2012 as a few pals recording scratch tracks in a neighborhood loft, has turned into an eclectic staple in the Victoria music scene. Their organic textures, otherworldly harmonies and visceral word play comprise a signature sound guaranteed to sow occult-laced sentiments deep inside your brain caves.
Cathedral Bloom have opened for notable acts like Montreal’s Leisure Suit, LA producer MNDSGN, and were also scheduled to play at last year’s Ponderosa Music Festival in Rock Creek, BC. Released on Halloween of 2014, their first EP gained warmest of Internet praise, and was also selected for the Fifteen for Fifteen: Victoria Oddities compilation on Baffled Octopi records. “
