The Ponderosa Festival site is absolutely stunning. The historic fairgrounds sit on the banks of the Kettle River in the small farming community of Rock Creek, BC; about five hours east of Vancouver and under two hours from Kelowna, BC. The grounds’ picturesque setting and riverside campgrounds are reason enough to visit the area.
One of our goals for this festival is to keep things local and, in the process, to reduce our impact on this pristine site. We are applying this philosophy to our selection of artists, musicians, vendors, local farmers, support staff, and sponsors. We are also passionate in involving the community and helping support local businesses. Putting on an amazing event and helping out the local community in the process makes the entire experience even more rewarding.
Rock Creek is the gateway to the Kootenay-Boundary region of BC, which is full of charming little towns. We want to show more people what this beautiful part of BC has to offer. There are tons of activities in and around the Rock Creek area that will suit anyone’s agenda. Whether it’s tubing down the Kettle River, touring the wine country in nearby Oliver and Osoyoos, hiking in the surrounding hills, gold panning with local historians, or visiting nearby ghost towns, you’re bound to find something unique and exciting right around the corner. Without a doubt, the Boundary area will have people coming back for more.
