We want everyone who attends Ponderosa to have the most amazing time! There are plenty of great festivals and events happening every weekend all across North America, but the key is to find one that’s your style. Our goal is to put on a 3-day weekend summer experience that you’ll never forget!
If you’re looking to discover new music, meet good people, and chill in an unreal riverside location then come on out and let us rock your world!
Have a read through the festival info below to start getting as excited as we are!
-Kris, Kia, and The Ponderosa Crew
Please note that although Ponderosa Festival is an all ages event and is catered towards a more mature audience. All attendees under the age of 19 must be accompanied by an adult. If you do plan to bring the youngens, we’ve made it so that kids 12 and under get in for free.
Make sure to have at least two pieces of ID with you (min. one government issued picture ID). Sorry, no exceptions.
Ponderosa is growing and to be sure that we have enough space for everyone we have set up the following four camping areas:
The Parkway and Riverside Campgrounds are for tents only – no vehicles are allowed in these areas.
We open campground gates on Friday morning at 9 AM. (Unless you have purchased an Early Entry Pass) All sites are first-come, first-served.
Riverside vs Parkway
The Parkway Campground is included with every ticket purchase. This area is connected to the festival site filled with green grass and sunshine. Check the map out below and you’ll see the layout. Yes, you will still have access to the river to get your float on!
The Riverside Campground is nestled on the banks of the Kettle River. This campground is shaded by large Ponderosa Pine trees and the grass is always greener. Everyone who has been to Ponderosa knows this site well and can attest to its beauty. Riverside Camping Upgrades are available during the checkout process and are subject to availability. Each individual must buy a Riverside Camping Upgrade in order to gain access to the Riverside Campground.
RV and Campervan Sites
Want to come to Ponderosa but tenting aint your jam? No worries, we’ve got you covered with our RV, and Campervan Site Passes. But space is very limited so don’t delay.
We’ve classified a “Campervan” as any vehicle that you can sleep in that is less than 20 feet long. Campervan Sites are approximately 10 feet wide by 30 feet long.
A “RV” is classified as any vehicle that is greater than 20 feet long. RV Sites are approximately 15 feet wide by 45 feet long.
Note on trailers: If you are pulling a trailer and wish to use your vehicle over the weekend, your vehicle will need to be detached and parked in the adjacent parking lot as there are no in-and-outs for recreational vehicles. If you plan on leaving your vehicle attached to your trailer please note that that will be included in your overall length (i.e. a 15 foot trailer with car attached would need the RV site pass).
One pass required per vehicle. RV or Campervan Site Passes can be purchased upon checkout through our Tickets page and are subject to availability.
OTHER SITE AMENITIES AND RULES:
Washroom facilities at the campgrounds include flush toilets, sinks and coin operated hot showers. Remember, the Kettle River is for swimming, chilling, and tubing, not for bathing or shaving armpits.
Though it looks beautiful and refreshing, don’t drink from the Kettle River. There are drinking water taps spread throughout the campgrounds and on the fairgrounds site. Bring your empty water bottles and jugs along to get in on the Freshness! Free water y’all!
Styrofoam is not allowed within the grounds or in the campsites. It’s fairgrounds policy, plus styrofoam sucks anyway.
No glass bottles or cans will be permitted inside the festival grounds.
**Campfires are NOT permitted at any time in the area due to risk of forest fire. This also includes propane campfires.**
BBQs and camp stoves are ok.
Have a look at the Ponderosa Site Map to get an idea for layout and campsite locations.
No vehicles permitted in Parkway and Riverside Campgrounds.
We love the fuzzy little buggers but Pets are NOT permitted on the festival grounds or in the campsites at any time. Yes, that includes small dogs wearing clothes.
Those that want to bring their four-legged friends to Rock Creek for the weekend, we recommend looking into KARL Ranch, located just down the road from our festival site.
There is plenty of parking for all directly across from the festival grounds that comes complimentary with all Ponderosa Weekend Passes. No vehicles are permitted in the Parkway and Riverside Campgrounds unless you have purchased a RV or Campervan Site Pass. No overnight camping is permitted in the parking areas.
Ponderosa will not be responsible for lost, damaged or stolen property left in cars.
If you’ve purchased your tickets online you will receive a copy by email. All tickets are non-refundable. Bring a printed copy of your ticket or an electronic version (on mobile) with the barcode to the event along with photo ID to claim your festival wristband.

GETTING THERE IS HALF THE FUN
Ponderosa Festival takes place at the Rock Creek Fairgrounds in Rock Creek, BC. The town of Rock Creek is located at the junction of HWY-33 and HWY-3, also known as the Crowsnest.
Travelling from Kelowna is a breeze. Just get on HWY-33 east towards Big White, follow the road for just under 2 hours, and “HELLO ROCK CREEK!”
The drive from Vancouver is stunning. For those who have never been out toward BC’s interior you are in for a real treat. Just head east on HWY-1 (Trans-Canada-Highway) and merge onto HWY-3 east just after passing Hope. Once you’ve hit Osoyoos, BC down in the beautiful Okanagan, you’re just a short 40 minute cruise away to Rock Creek. Total travel time from Vancouver is just over 5 hours.
Be sure to stop in Manning Park, and if you have time, stop in the small towns of Hedley or Keremeos and browse their quirky shops and fruit stands.
For those who choose to fly in from other areas, we recommend the Kelowna International Airport (YLW). You’ll be able to find frequent flights to and from most major North American cities.
VENDORS & VOLUNTEERS
The vendor portion of the festival will be made up of local artists and artisans showcasing their craft, unique boutique merchants looking to gain exposure, and delicious food choices to suit all appetites, diets, and cravings.
ROCK CREEK AREA AND AMENITIES
Rock Creek is a small farming community with a handful of local businesses. The Rock Creek General Store is your one stop shop for things like liquor, food and gas. If you’re not able to find what you need in Rock Creek, the Village of Midway, BC is just a short 15 minute drive down HWY-3 heading east. There you will find a bigger selection of goods at McMynn’s grocery and liquor store.
Our First Aid Team will be on-hand throughout the course of the weekend. Temperatures do get fairly hot during the day so we recommend making frequent trips to the river to stay cool. We also recommend bringing something warm for the evenings because they are known to get a little chilly!
Our site does have decent cell service for most cell phone providers, however, services may be limited at times.
ATMs are available on site and at several locations in Rock Creek and in Midway.
FESTIVAL GROUNDS PROTOCOL
Be cool. Everyone’s going to be having an amazing time, we just ask that everyone parties with some sensibility. Volunteers work hard to maintain the site and at keeping the grounds pristine. We want everyone to have the utmost respect for the beautiful site and the great volunteers and staff who are there to make sure you have a great time.
People caught with the following will be ejected and subject to probable wristband confiscation:
Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia
All patrons are also subject to search before entering the grounds.
